Worship Helpers
Acolytes
It is expected that all students serve as acolytes during confirmation, grades 6-8.

The word "acolyte" means "follower" or "attendant". It refers to the fact that the acolyte is assisting the pastor in the
worship service in very specific ways.

Here at Our Redeemer, the duties include candle lighting, receiving the offering plates, and caring for the return trays
for the communion cups.
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild organizes the ordering and placement of altar flowers, altar linen care, parament care, candle care,
baptismal napkins, communion ware cleaning, and banner placement for church services and weddings.
Greeters
The greeter program is designed to help members and visitors feel warmly welcomed as they come to worship at
Our Redeemer.
Nursery Attendants
A nursery is available during all worship services, and is staffed on Sunday mornings during 10:30 a.m. worship.
Children may be brought to the nursery for supervised child care before or during this late service.

Parents who utilize the nursery service, as well as other loving adults and youth take turns providing childcare
to our youngest members.

The nursery is located just past the church library and restrooms on the upper level.
Technology Assistants
We are fortunate to have some of the latest technology devices to enhance our worship experience.
Our sound system helps us hear the Word, message and music more clearly during the service and also allows
us to record one service each week for uploading to our web site so the service can be accessed via computer
at a later date.

Our projection system permits a hands-free worship environment and also aids a visitor not familiar with our
liturgies to more easily follow along.

Our cameras allow special events to be put up on the screens for better viewing. They also allow a service to be
aired on the local access channel on Mediacom each week.
Ushers
Ushers are an important part of our Sunday services. They distribute worship bulletins and other worship aids prior
to the services. Ushers also assist in gathering the offering and distributing communion. Five ushers participate in
each service. Ushers volunteer to serve regularly at one service per month.
